Sounds interesting. By listening to the tone she could tell he wasn't just saying that, some people she had met just to shut her up would tell her what they thought she wanted to hear... Not even bothering to hide the fact they were annoyed or bored, shame because she would have believed them if they tried harder. He seemed like he was actually interested however.
When he took the book back she looked surprised, "Ah so you aren't the closed-minded type. She gave a soft smile, "It depends on the person you ask, I personally would fancy myself open minded, I would have to be in order to read all these books... Many people find me close minded so I guess its up for interpretation."
Those few people had been her 'friends' back home... They had claimed her close minded but that was because she was against the partying they had wanted to do when the parents were away... She wasn't the type to party, didn't mean she was close minded... Like said she fancied herself open minded but she didn't want to appear egotistical so she always went with modest, let the person themselves pick.

"I don't see how you wouldn't be." He said with a shrug. He honestly couldn't see how anyone would think she was. She was into quite a few different topical books. If anything she was a lot more open-minded then himself. He figured he should change that. He wanted to be more open-minded, maybe he really would read a fiction book. For his own sake.
"So what's your idea of fun?" He asked watching her. He wondered if she wanted to leave, or if she was bored talking to him. He was honestly enjoying himself, but he couldn't speak for her. He had always been the social butterfly type. Since his parents always took him to parties. Which he still went to sometimes. Just not as much anymore since the depression. But he was kind of glad of that because now he had more time to study, and not goof off. He didn't even think he had a date for a while. But for once he didn't mind. Just reading had and has been enough.

"I don't see how you wouldn't be." Many she liked or had a good time with didn't, however those who thought her as an rat or a party pooper found her close minded... She had a limit to that open minded way about her but depending she wasn't really afraid to try anything. She just didn't like being forced to do anything or going to parties, although she was doing fairly well here, in the stressful atmosphere of a party or ball that she couldn't afford to go to anyways caused her to get really stressed.
She couldn't handle all the people who stared at her let it be with angry, envy, hatred, humor, lust, or just confusion. She didn't like the looks, one or two was find she was use to that but the parties stuck her in a room with those looks... To stressful. So what's your idea of fun? snapping out of her thoughts she shrugged, "Uh I read mostly, enjoy walks, drawing, reading, writing, stuff like that. Never really been a big talker..."
She figured that was evident but maybe it wasn't. She was doing better then normal, although rusty due to lack of conversations for the last few weeks. She was enjoying herself, while reading was just as good she needed to talk to someone real and not be lost in a book, she had been warned that was how the madness started, she didn't want to become crazy...

Tristyn looked at her with surprise at her statement, "Really? You seemed like you would have been." He hadn't been able to tell at all. She didn't seem like the shy type. But nonetheless he was glad that she was talking to him, and not being all shy. He got annoyed with that a lot. Like at parties when girls would just look at him and giggle. Sure he would go along with it, but it didn't mean he liked it. It just meant he was patient. At least that's what he liked to think.
"I'm actually into just about everything your into." He said with a chuckle,"Except I'm terrible at drawing..It's not really my thing." He smiled weakly. He had tried drawing before, but they ended up looking like little squiggles. Or blobs for that matter.

She smiled softly at his surprise, maybe she was doing a better job at socializing then she thought. Really? You seemed like you would have been., Yes, it seemed like she was doing a better job then she thought. She used to be a lot more shy when a child, not the cliche shy, the mute shy. She still was but it seemed she was getting better depending on the situation. Wouldn't her family be proud of her.
I'm actually into just about everything your into. She smiled and then gave a slightly confused yet amused look as he chuckled,Except I'm terrible at drawing..It's not really my thing. She could understand that, not everyone could draw, she barely could draw until she got the right things together and even then... However she had been called a perfectionist so even if it was perfect it would never be 'perfect' to her. She hadn't drawn in awhile... She wondered if she had gotten rusty at that as well...
